UFC Figueiredo v Benavidez Weight-In Wrap up/Breakdown

UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2 - Wikipedia

Weigh-in Wrap up: Everyone made weight!!😀

Breakdown: Figueiredo v Benavidez
Someone will leave Yas Island the new Flyweight Champ. Which is good because the first time these two fought, that did not happen. For those that didn't watch the first fight, it was pretty competitive. I would say Joe won the first round but it was certainly a battle. Then in the second round, when it looked like Figueiredo was starting to get tried, they clash heads and it splits Joe's forehead wide open. Joe loses concentration for about two second and get KOd by a big right hand. I don't see that happening again and with Figueiredo making weight you wonder how that will affect is cardio for this fight. He also had a false positive COVID-19 test that delayed his arrival in Abu Dhabi and did not arrive until yesterday.

Hermansson v Gastelum:
The sixth and seventh ranked fighters in the middleweight division square off in the Co-Main event. Herramsson is a true veteran of the UFC. This will be his tenth fight in the UFC with a record of 6-3. He is a very good on the ground whether it be subs or ground and pound. That seems to be the best path to victory for him in this match up. Gastelum has lost 3 of his last five fights but you have look deeper at the losses. He lost in a title fight against Adesanya that many people had as their fight of the year in 2019. His last fight he lost a close split decision to Till. At 28 Kelvin still is not in his prime yet and I would look for him to come hard and prove the haters wrong. Kelvin is always a threat to knock you out at any second of the fight.

Fun Prelim: Johns v Jackson:
My favorite prelim fight of the night will be at 135 as if that division needs help with excitement. Jackson is 3-1 in the UFC with his only lose coming by decision to Ricky Simon. He was crazy fast hands and power to go with it. He also has a D'Arce choke win as well. Johns has gone 4-2 in the UFC and brings a ground game that would make Renzo Gracie blush. This is a clash of two opposite styles and should be loads of fun.

Picks will drop tomorrow before the card starts. Updated record of 60-30 and 8-1 in Main Events.
