Overeem v Sakai:

Do not put that old washed up label on Overeem just yet. He can in and finished a new young guy that was undefeated in the UFC and looked great doing it at the age of 40. The first two rounds were very close. I saw on social media that a lot of people had Sakai winning those rounds, I had Overeem winning them, but they were very close. In the third round Sakai started to slowed down and that was when Overeem used all that experience and slowly turned the momentum in his favor. When he landed his first takedown, it was the beginning of the end for Sakai as Overeem's ground game was just to much for him. Forth round was a 10-8 for Overeem and he put the cherry on top of this performance and finished Sakai on the ground at the start of round five. That finish put him tied for forth all time in the heavyweight division in TKO/KO with nine.

Best of the Rest: OSP showed that he is still a factor at 205lbs. He fought a dangerous guy and looked good doing it eventually knocking him out with a beautiful walk-off counter left hook while going backwards. Menfield looked like he really could never figure out OSP and how to attack him. He still is young in his MMA career so lets hope he regroups and corrects the errors he made in this fight. Michel Pereria put on the best overall performance of his career against Imadaev. He has fixed the cardio problem that plagued him in his second UFC fight and looks to have really started to put it all together. I am going to link to some pictures here👈 from the fight because words can not do justice as to what this man did yesterday. I'm super excited to see where he goes from here and at only 26 years old, Pereria has not even hit his prime as a fighter yet. Brian Kelleher had his opponent changed three times for his fight but that did not stop him from putting on a fantastic performance. He recorded the forth fastest submission in UFC/WEC Featherweight history with his 39 second guillotine choke over Rodriguez. Overall it was a good card given the fact we had two fights fall through at the last minute and only had seven fights in total on this card.
